Health and Social Workers’ Union stands up for Palestine in 81 provinces

Sağlık-Sen President Mahmut Faruk Doğan stated that hospitals in Gaza are unable to provide services and said, “Humanity and compassion have been blocked and the road has been blocked.” Sağlık-Sen organized simultaneous press statements in 81 provinces to react to the genocide committed by Israel in Palestine.

Doğan protested Israel’s genocide in Palestine with the crowd gathered in front of Ankara City Hospital. Supporting the just struggle of the Palestinian people, Doğan criticized the international community’s indifference to the atrocities. He emphasized that the atrocities in Gaza should not be ignored.

Pointing out that hospitals are unable to provide services, Doğan condemned the international community’s silence on the genocide in Gaza. In the press statement, where health workers chanted slogans in support of Palestine, it was stated that Israel committed crimes against humanity and bombed hospitals, schools and places of worship.

Doğan condemned Israel’s attacks on hospitals, saying, “Attacking institutions that serve human health is inhumane and a crime against humanity.” He stated that health centers in Gaza could not provide services due to power cuts and lack of medicines.

Stating that Turkey should extend a helping hand to Palestine, Doğan emphasized that Israel should be tried in the International Criminal Court. Finally, he emphasized the importance of recognizing an independent Palestinian state for the resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
